Commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the Premiere of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony
Join us for an extraordinary musical evening as we commemorate the 200th anniversary of
Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, one of the most celebrated works in the classical music
repertoire. Experience Liszt’s two-piano transcription of this monumental symphony, a
faithful and detailed rendition that captures the full orchestral texture, dynamic range, and
emotional depth of Beethoven’s masterpiece.
The two-piano performance will feature Gustavo Romero, an internationally acclaimed
American pianist, and Eri Nakagawa, a distinguished pianist and faculty member at the
College of Music, Mahidol University. They will be supported by Wannapha Yannavut,
principal percussionist of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, on timpani. The evening will culminate in the powerful finale, “Ode to Joy,” performed by vocal soloists and the Mahidol
Heavenly Voice Singers from the studio of Tsui-Ping Wei, a legendary voice teacher at the
College of Music, Mahidol University, who will also conduct the movement.
